Toyota’s latest member of the Prius Family is the 2013 Prius V. It’s larger and has more cargo space than its 2013 cousin the Prius C and has the same great features plus some specialized options. Learn more about the 2013 Prius V below.
Combined Electric and Gas Power
Under the hood of the 2013 Prius V is an engine that combines the best of both worlds. Powered by a 1.8L four cylinder engine and an electric engine, the latest addition to the Toyota Prius family combines these two powertrains for an overall output of 134hp. This car also lets you choose how you want to power your ride with a mode that’s capable of delivering 10 to 15 miles of travel on electricity alone.
Lost Weight, Better City Driving
The 2013 Prius V weighs 500 pounds less than its predecessor. This lighter weight is designed to make it easier to navigate tight city streets. The size is more city-friendly too. The V is shorter and skinnier than the 2012 Prius, but the extended V series doesn’t compromise cargo space.
Three Models Available
The new Prius gives you options right off the lot. Choose from a Two, Three, or Five model to customize your ride. Five models can be ordered with an Advanced Technology Package that includes an upgraded navigation system, Entune entertainment system, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, and parking assist. Hooked up to your smartphone, the Entune system is able to read text messages aloud.
The tighter waistline also helps maintain great mpg. It’s a non-plug in with a combined city/highway rating of 42 mpg. But despite this fuel economy, the sticker price is extremely reasonable among gasoline-electric hybrids sold in the U.S. The 2013 Prius V is the perfect hatchback for budget-minded buyers who want to have more space, use less oil, and emit fewer emissions.
